I've not used bincimap with qmail as yet. I use courier-imap on all our
mail servers. I have seen others complaining of high cpu usage with
bincimap, and the consensus seems to be that binimap requires about 3
times as much cpu usage as courier-imap to complete the same
transaction, but completes the transaction faster. Your scenario seems
to be using rather excessive amounts of cpu though. I'm not sure if
you've seen this page or not, but others on the mail lists I monitor say
it's been helpful:
