The best way to get action on something you want from your school is
to get your parents to make the case for you. I would expect the
bunch of us on clug to be in about the last place they'd expect to see
useful advice. The way they think, we're probably no better than the
dregs in the dreaded IRC channels they're trying to protect you from.

Lots of things in life suck, and school is right up there with a lot
of them in many ways. You're forced to go, it's essentially a
dictatorship, and they make the rules regardless of whether they know
what they're doing or not.

Explain what you want to your parents. Tell them what you want to do,
what it's going to take, why what you have won't let you do that, and
why they should let you. If you need any help explaining, we may
be able to help with that.

Maybe your parents can send a note in to the powers that be that'll
get you what you want. Maybe the powers that be will find a way to
make that happen. Maybe not. In the latter case, do what I do: thank
your lucky stars that you're not living in some of the real hell holes
in the world, and that this temporary irritating situation will pass
in time.

Good luck.
