I deceided to be bold and attempt to upgrade suse8.2 to 9.0 with yast/yast2. Since it's a lower end computer I'm running yast in ncurses. In the process I managed to mess up yast2. I can run yast2 but when attempting to load System or Online update the app. dies and I get an error:
/sbin/yast2: line 184: 2091 Segmentation fault $ybindir/y2base menu ncurses rpm still works but I'm not sure what to do from here.
