I'm not sure if being a society would be an issue. But as a fund raiser for an event... I think schools and churches do this so I would assume that it might be okay. There was some discussion with getting an annual Linuxfest where we could get a big warehouse or something and do lots of linux stuff. It would basically be a big installfest with additional presentations and workshops. The idea was brought up by Graham, (sorry if I'm putting you on the spot.) Maybe some funds could be generated to covering rentals and such.
