I've been trying to figure out why I have stopped getting logwatch reports
from my mail server, and I think I'm on the right track but it is confusing
me.
I have the /etc/aliases file setup so that all messages for root get sent to
my telus address. This seems to work some of the time, as today I got a
message that was sent from ddclient to root, and one from the postmaster
saying that a message could not be sent when the network was down. However
if I try to send a message from my user to root, or if I try running the
logwatch.pl script directly I seem to run into problems. As in I don't get
the message, and I get errors in /var/log/maillog that look like this:

I cannot make sence of this since I do have a postmaster alias. Using the
command date | /usr/sbin/sendmail.sendmail -v -Am postmaster will send an e-
mail to my telus account. I have also used the /usr/sbin/sendmail.sendmail -
bv command to check the mailer-daemon, root, and postmaster accounts and it
says that they all should forward to my telus address.

Any ideas?

Jesse
