You need to know stuff about 1 package manager, configuring X, commands, bash, etc. The questions are such that even if you are good Linux guy like myself, you should still study. > * What kind of time frame are we looking at? This is open. LPI has hinted that they would like Matt to do a road show but other than that it would be a matter of determining the interest then approaching CLUE to find out when someone can come out. > * Are there sample questions/brain dumps/etc available anywhere? Yes IBM developerworks has 8 hour long tutorials you can take and there are some online sample tests and stuff like that. The LPI site covers this. > * What is the industry view on this particular certification? Well I know it's not doing as well as the RHCE but that's probably a lot harder to obtain and costs more. You probably could get them to do a presentation for you as well though. > * Is there of this being perceived as a "Paper MCSE" type of thing? Probably more so than the RHCE because their isn't the hands on troubleshoot lab component. > I would definitely be up for it and have been looking a bit at the LPI for > a certification to consider...and the price isn't bas either! All I really know is this is a certification I can afford to obtain. -- Mark Lane, CET mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Hard Data Ltd. http://www.harddata.com T: 01-780-456-9771 F: 01-780-456-9772 11060 - 166 Avenue Edmonton, AB, Canada, T5X 1Y3 --> Ask me about our Excellent 1U Systems! <-- _______________________________________________ clug-talk mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-talk_clug.ca
