Hi, guys, it looks like I can install and run VMware on Win 2000 Domain Controller(logged in as domain admin), which is totally opposite to the VMware manual and technical support.
I wanna hear what's your guys result on Win2000, 2003 or XP host.
Here is the communication between me and VMware technical support.
"Hi, XXXXX
I am glad to tell you that, it works, on Win2000 Domain Controller host.
I didn't wait for your reply coz that was a bit of late. I installed your
VMware workstation 4 on my WIN 2000 Domain Controller as host OS(logged in
as domain admin), then installed RH9.0 as guest OS. The result is fantastic.
Still appreciate your reply which is different to my case, hopefully, it
could help you something for the later question.

Dear reno liu,
Thank you for your Support Request.
VMware products do not support running on a Windows 2000 Active Directory
domain controller. If you want to run VMware products on such a host
machine,
you must uninstall Windows 2000 and reinstall it without configuring the
machine as a domain controller. After you complete the re-installation, you
can install VMware products again.
Waiting for your Reply.
Best Regards,

In the manual, "On a Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 host computer, you
must be logged in as a local administrator (that is, not logged in to the
domain) in order
to install VMware Workstation."
My Win2000 is domain controller right now, only logged into domain rather
then a local admin. Do I have to degrade my 2000 domain controller to
stand-alone server for installing logged in as a local admin??
Thanks.
