Does shaw block port 80 or 25? Is anyone else running a similar service on a standard Shaw home account?
I've run my own mail/web server on my shaw home account for going on 5 years now. They don't block 80,25,443,22 or any other ports beside 8080 (stop open proxies) and a couple other hard core worm ports. Saying that if you have a bandwidth issue they will port scan you and may give you grief about the running of a server. But they don't actively search servers out and shut them down.
