Hi gang.

I recently found Scorched3D (a 3D version of the classic DOS game Scorched
Earth), and am trying to get it running. I downloaded the RPM, and installed
it with YaST (I'm running Suse 9.0). The first problem was trying to figure
out how to start the game - no menu option was created. So I created an icon
on my desktop to the scorched3d executable. That works now.

When I try to start a game, I get the following error:

The Schorched3d process terminated unexpectedly.
The error given was :
Display : ERROR: Failed to set video mode.
Error Message: Couldn't find matching GLX visual.
-------------------------------------
Requested Display Mode:-
Driver=x11
Resolution=640x480x0 (windowed)
DepthBuffer=24
DoubleBuffer=On
ColorComponentSize=0

I've tried various settings under the display options of Scorched and always
get this message. I've checked my XF86Config file to make sure the Load
"glx" line is in the Modules section (it is).

I am using an nvidia GForce 440MX card, and the drivers are loaded for it -
though some programs refuse to recognize it (which might be the root problem,
I suspect).

Anyone have any tips or ideas? A search of Google found others with the
problem but no solution to it.

Thanks

Shawn
