I'm looking for some ideas on what is available for image management software.
The details in my specific case are that we have a very large number of images (150,000+ - someone is going to spend a lot time doing the data entry for this), each of which requires custom meta data for searching. We are not looking for image manipulation features, but do need to identify the type of image, which dictates what meta data we need to capture. In addition, it would be preferable that the meta-data is stored in a manner that can be access/searched from a separate application. Thus far, I think Adobe Photoshop Album is the closest to what we're looking for, but it isn't open source, so won't allow us to integrate the other custom features we'll need. Is there anything equivalent to Photoshop Album in the open source world? We would prefer windows or web based. Thanks for any input. Off to Google I go to see what I can find....
