Hi Folks, Sorry I've been so absent. I get my own connection and place in the
new month. Yay! in the mean-time .... sigh anyway you'll hear more from me
then. Miss you guys.

Anyway, you don't even need Red Carpet to update personal. I haven tried
Red-Carpet, so it might be better, but here's how I did it.

Add an installation source in YaST (under Software) pick a nearby or fast ftp
mirror. Put the address in like:
ftp.suse.com

and the directory like so:
pub/suse/i386/9.1
(no slashes at the beginning and end)

It'll take a few minutes to check it then it should appear under your install
sources. If you crave portability and have 9.1 Pro already running, you might
want to do this anyway. No more fumbling for disks when all you want is a
shitty little 2 meg app. Just go through YaST and pick your package, it'll do
the dependency resolution etc and grab everything from the mirror. whoo hoo!
party time.

Caveat: The only problem I've had with Personal is that you can't seem to
update KDM to let you pick another desktop other than KDE (not that that's
usually a problem). I have a low spec box I like to run Blackbox on.

You can now download an iso for personal SuSE from suse.com
It is quite a hassle but if you install red-carpet after that you can
download the missing 'pro' and 'server' packages as well...

<warning>
Micro$oft highly recommends that users with Internet access update their
software to better protect against viruses and security vulnerabilities.
The easiest way to do this is to visit the following website: http://
