Libranet is Debian based, and yes you can use rpm's on it, both with rpm and with alien (which converts $blah to .deb). I installed Applix from their CDROM using rpm. It worked fine. You can't push this too far, but it does work. I would have suggested he apt-get realplayer, but I assumed he had some reason not to (latest-version-itis). -- Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced.
