Got the swup working and did get MC samba and webmin downlded. The samba being quit large had many failures and one --cache-delete before it was all downlded and configured. It did pick up where it left off in the download/install process. Samba needs some work to get it going ie its smb.conf file is not really configured for the user directory anomaly. Going to try a couple more installs to see how the integration of various package combinations goes. thanks

I am sure, there are more comparative presentations to come, this topic, has been floating about for a while, i think Linux users and the general public are intrested in a comparison, of some detail, to help them choose the best-fitting distro for the job. I have attached swup.conf for you in a private e-mail. so i will reference some points only on the list. -1- make sure # exclude_pkg_regexp = "kernel.*" or the kernel will not be updated. -2- This is the part of question: # site {# tinysofa server 1.0 contrib class = 10 location = "http://http.tinysofa.org/pub/tinysofa/contrib/server-1.0/rdfs/latest.rd f" regexp = ".*" } so contrib packages are available. Also check in include_conf="conf.d/*.conf" for the servers and the paths. This would be important to make sure the servers are correctly defined and the packages are accessable. Hope that helped a bit. Cheers Szemir On August 7, 2004 02:18, Bill Rayment wrote: > First the kudos > I attended the Aug CLUG meeting and thought it was great.
