Andrew,

While you presented some excellent information and some helpful suggestions I think
you missed my point. I thought I was quite clear on what I wanted to accomplish (or
at least what happened with the first kick of the cat). If not; or in the interest of
clarification I will try and present it in a better way.

FLOSS "Desktop" Project:
* Purpose: To present a selection of FLOSS applications, servers, etc. that can be
used equally in various cross-platform "Desktop" environments.
* Details:
        - Desktop is defined as the environment in which a user spends their time and
utilises the technology available to them.
        - These environments can be roughly placed into the following (certainly
non-extensive or all-inclusive) categories:
                * Entertainment: Gaming (pre-packaged or online), Music, Movies, TV.
                * Productivity - Home: Finance, Word Processing, Spreadsheets,
Surfing, Hobbies/Interests, Creating Websites, e-mail, Messaging, etc.
                * Productivity - Work: Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Surfing,
Intranet/Web Page development, e-mail, Messaging, Development (???), Database work,
etc.
                * Development: Programming, Database interaction, etc. Afraid I am
not fully versed in this.
                * Multimedia: Video/Music/Graphics creation, editing and production.

This is by no means the end of what I was looking at.

Any thoughts by anyone?

Cameron
