Hi Travis.

The idea is for anyone who is interested, to bring a computer with them to the
workshop. The computer should already have an operating system installed,
and be ready to begin installation of qmail.

It is possible to do the installation without the workshop, bet we felt that
if a bunch of us were in the same place trying to accomplish the same thing,
then we'd have a better/quicker share of knowledge, and we can all learn
something from the others.

During the workshop, there will be some times while we wait for compilations.
In these periods we would discuss the other issues involved in setting up an
email server. Topics such as DNS configuration, network configuration, how
to NOT create an open mail relay, etc.

We are not assuming anyone has any prior knowledge about email servers (though
that would help). But we are assuming the attendees have a desire to set up
their own email server.

Hope this clears up a few questions for you.

Shawn

(ps. I posted my response to the CLUG list as well - I think there may be
other's wanting more information....)
