In case anyone else on the list is wondering, so long as you do a backup to 
floppy via the IPCop GUI, the actual upgrade to 1.4 from 1.3 is 
painless--only took me 10min in total.

The upgrade is well worth it--especially if you have interest in the enhanced 
VPN and wireless capabilities.
