I had issues with my laptop and Mdk 10.0 (NVidia card). I had to d'load
the NVidia driver from their site and still had the occasional issue
that forced me into a level three, command line situation, where I had
to reinstall the driver to get X up and working again.

Mdk 10.1 solved that issue for me - the drivers in the default install
worked fine. I have 10.1 iso's d'loaded if you need a copy.
