Is CLUG becoming a bureaucracy? It seems that a number of you are
trying very hard to apply undue amounts of rules and organization to
what used to be a small user group for amateur computer enthusiasts.
The days where people discussed computer-related topics seem gone,
lately it has been a select few arguing rules and the best way to do
things! And to what end? Well, you still have the same small group of
amateur computer enthusiasts. But now there is a set of rules that
will almost surely be used to chase off many of the suggestions or
ideas people may have in the future. And really, does that follow the
ideology of this group or of opensource?

My participation in CLUG has been fairly limited over the past few
years, but I would still like you to consider one thing: if you apply
too much process to an amateur group, you'll take away 100% of the
fun. Perhaps it would be worth discussing during the hours minutes at
the next executive amateur board meeting minutes.

Thanks.
