As with bring your distro meeting, (suggested by Kevin,) well I'm not
sure how the groups has evolved in the last 2 - 3 years but I have
heard that there have been some *VERY* heated debates with [INSERT
DISTRO HERE] zelots. I've even heard fist fights came from such
discussions. Still not a bad idea though, (as long everyone behaves
themselves.)
I am on the IP-Cop mailing lists (mostly as a lurker) My advise (less than 2 cents) stay with 1.3 fully patched...
I have a couple 1.4.0 and 1.4.1 boxes running but they are not TROUBLE free. 1.4.2 will come out Thursday/Friday, that should fix hopefully some really enoying things. (DHCP ranges hang IPCop etc)
Some 'bugs' were so stupid (easy to catch with some better testing???) that a couple of flame wars were started on the IPCop lists... The lead developer for 1.4.0 quitted...
I really love IPCop but for the moment only version 1.3...
