I also heard about the fire.  I don't run a server but when I set up the
second computer to run a linux system, I sorted out my octopus of wires and
checked that I had two different circuits sharing the connections between
two power bar plus assorted lights, audio and video.  Wiring in older houses
is always a concern.

I have always been told that computer hardware does not make a big demand,
but by the time you plug in two computers, a monitor, printer, server
connection, router, lights, TV, dvd, audio equipment etc. it starts to look
like a wiring mess.  Maybe there is no concern but then again...

Any thoughts/experiences/guidelines appreciated
