Thanks for all the input.  It's adding to the pile... Dell is a bit too new as 
well, and make me a nervous. 

We also stumbled across Ciara blades, made in Quebec!  Looks like they take 
motherboards from IBM and OEM their own stuff.  Any one even heard of these 
guys??  Brand new to me.  Their prices look good, and if it's IBM Linux should 
be happy.
