suse 9.1: is available for public download. in iso format http://www.suse.com/en/private/download/ftp/personal_iso_int.html Suse 9.2: is not yet available for public download in iso format. The package management and installer was put under the gpl shortly after Novell bought Suse, so that clears the question on that. You are allowed to make copies of all gpl software and distribute it to friends etc. In suse case, you are allowed to do that provided you do not sell the thing. Note the offer maker did not even require blank disks.
IMHO, this is OK, if you know of other opinions, please post link to documents so that we can review them. some gnu and fsf links here: http://www.gnu.org/ http://www.fsfeurope.org/ http://www.gnu.org/licenses/licenses.html http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt Cheers Szemir PS.: Is was allways OK to copy and give away suse disks, for free. And that staid true even after the novell acquisition, in 9.1, so the less something changed in 9.2, it should remain true.
