PROGSIG is the Programming Special Interest Group. It is a place where programmers (new and experienced) can discuss issues related to programming. This isn't just code, but also issues like project management, client interaction, etc. But of course, the bulk of or discussions revolve around code - but not any particular language. Where possible we try to stick to open source type environments, but this is not a strict limit.
If you have an interest in programming - as a hobby/curiosity or as a career - you're welcome to join the mailing list (http://clug.ca/mailman/listinfo/clug-progsig_clug.ca), or attend the meetings. The meetings are currently an open discussion where we talk about some of the fun things we've done recently, code problems we've had to overcome, or someone has a problem they'd like help with. The PROGSIG meetings are smaller than the general CLUG meetings, and take place on the last Thursday of each month. This is also covered on the PROGSIG web page (http://progsig.clug.ca/). Though some of the information is dated now with the closing of Nexus. We'll get it updated soon I hope. HTH, and welcome to the group.
