I for one would welcome the chance to learn some system/network administration skills, applications, concepts, etc from those who are willing to share. ANd I mean going beyond the mailing list. But have a type of regitry listing gurus and there areas of expertise (i.e. Infrastucture hardware, Security Administration, etc.) adn have them work with a couple people to bring them along.
I like to support that -- I have tried to participate when time permits particularly on the mailing list. It would be good to have a registry (which also includes an optional photo). While I appreciate responses and help, sometimes nothing beats a personal thank you. When I arrive at the meeting late and leave pretty much on time - you don't get much of chance to match people's names to a face.
The registry could also be an additional benefit as there is life outside of linux (believe or not ;-) ). I think this is a great community.
