I've had to abandon putting Gentoo on one server due to hardware issues (and a time crunch/volunteer work situation). So, I decided to put Fedora Core on this server - it properly detected the raid controller and configured itself fine. One thing i like about fedora is raids, I have setup many with a few different types of hardware and software raids and fedora always has always configured it's self perfect!
the next bit of PostgreSQL i cant help you with, i only really know MySQL so I'll snip it

Any tips? I suspect I'll hit similar types of issues with Apache, but I'm familiar enough with messing around in the Apache config files, so hopefully it'll go pretty smooth. Is there any tool similar to Yast for Fedora at the command line?If you want the person to be able to configure apache properly using fedora's Apache Gui thing don't mess with the config file to much or the Gui wont save the changes made in the Gui
Thanks for any suggestions. As always, I'll be visiting google.
About the only thing i can think of thats even kind of like Yast is yum but you cant configure anything its only really to install update and so on. If you want something to configure the server I would recommend webmin if its a person thats new to configuring or using Linux and only allow it to be accessed local host or the address of whomever will be using it and once they know enough about Linux take it off so theres that less to worry about.
