The Apache workshop will is currently scheduled for Sunday, April 17. It will start at 9:30am and go for most of the day - we'll aim for 5:00pm, but experience tells me that we may run a few hours later. The workshop will be held at PDK Control (Kin C Wong's place of business in Kensington) at 305, 1228 - Kensington Road NW. Space is a little restricted, so we are allowing for 10 attendees. Please indicate to me off list if you will be attending. Hopefully we won't need to turn away too many - but if so, a second workshop might be possible.
You should have a computer with a base Linux installation of your choice. We will compile Apache from source, and then configure the server to handle virtual hosts, with proxying if needed. We will attempt to cover common configurations, as well as discuss security related issues. The completed installation will include SSL (please ensure OpenSSL is installed on your server before the workshop), and configuration details for PHP will be discussed. If time permits, we may even install/configure PHP. Other than that, details are a little sketchy, but will be made available in the next week or so as they become available.
