Hi folks,

Just for the record I am a member of CUUG and on the board this year, but please don’t hold that against me. ;>)

Also for the record CUUG membership is now $50/year, so 2.5 times CLUG, and for that you get 9 or 10 meetings per year with pizza/donairs/pop, a hosted email account @cuug.ab.ca, and networking opportunities with other Unix geeks.  You must provide your own internet connection (no more dial up facilities).

These events are free to CUUG members and usually $10 for non members although the Stallman event will have a rather contorted fee schedule because of his principles. Memberships will be available at the door.

I think both CLUG and CUUG offer excellent value and I see them appealing to different interests, CLUG more for the enthusiast, CUUG more for the IT professional, with some overlap.

CUUG would greatly appreciate CLUGs help to promote the Stallman event. We hope to fill a large theater, and need to just to break even on this event.  Tell your friends, coworkers, and fellow enthusiasts. I hope to see you all there.

Regards,

Greg King
