I thought I'd pass along this interesting story to everybody so that you can see an example of (abusing?) the power of linux/unix and vmware

Well,  I'm doing compilations of our software on multiple platforms today, however I'm working from home so I have to be a little creative.

I'm using FC3 as my host machine at home (Athlon 1800+, 768MB Ram).
I use vmware, and windows98/exceed/tightvnc/secure client to connect o to the office

I have xterms logged in to two solaris machines and an irix machine
Using an xterm logged into my linux FC1 machine at the office, I started vncserver

I connected using tightvnc to the vncserver running on my linux FC1 machine
under vnc, I started vmware on the FC1 machine at  the office
on FC1 at the office, vmware started RH7.3

I brought up an xterm logging in directly to the virtual RH7.3 box and started my compilation

I am typing this message from evolution on FC3 whilst watching my 4 compiles run

This goes to show the real power of unix and linux networking,  standardized display protocols, and vmware.

BTW, my kudos again to the vmware guys, it just works.  I love it
