Just the idea of some one watching what I have installed scares the crap out of me. Even if its not true it still has a possibility and thats enough to give me a scare.


This happens more often than you would think. I know of at least one
800 pound gorilla oil and gas application that reports back to the
mothership with a list of all the software, dll's and versions thereof.

Yes, they were beat over the head soundly with a foam rubber bat and
told that this was very very bad. They still went ahead, and are
still doing so to this very day.

Nevermind all the various privacy laws that this probably violates
these  days...
