i don't know if you've come across eMovix yet, but it's pretty interesting. it doesn't make DVD's, but it creates bootable media with your media all set up and ready to play via mplayer. which is kind of neat in its own right...

Oh, good call! I remember fiddling with that a few months back. I think K3b has support for creating eMovix cd's, if you have the eMovix stuff installed.
Works great for nearly instant-on playback of tv shows while you're on the plane or whatever :-)
