Hello All,
I upgraded my hard drive and installed knoppix 3.7 temporarily so that I could burn my new libranet CD's. I successfully burned my five libranet 3.0 CD's. On the old system I was using libratnet 2.8, and had the firewall disabled on start up due to the fact that I am behind a four port router. I do not know the firewall status of my knoppix 3.7 installation. When I install libranet 3.0 I want to make sure that I disable the libranet 3.0 firewall. Both Libranet 2.8 and libranet 3.0 are debian distributions. I plan on installing libranet 3.0 while I am on the phone with my brother. That way he can coach me on what options to accept and what options to reject on the libranet 3.0 installation. There is another Mel on the list who has installed libranet 2.8 and has presumably installed libratnet 3.0 To that other Mel I say that as a previous registered user of libranet 2.8 I got a ten U S dollar saving on libranet 3.0. My brother Mel says that the debian kernel and debian packages on libranet are free of charge and that it is only the installer that is proprietary. I was moderately happy with libranet 2.8 and look forward with great anticipation to install my libranet 3.0 off of my five registered CD's of libranet 3.0.
