This is a Linux mailing list, but being as FreeBSD was already mentioned.. OpenBSD will do all you're looking to do. Packages for all you're looking for are available and is probably as minimalist as you're going to get. The only drawback (in my mind), is the release cycle. If you manage to get 3.7 installed right away, you're looking at only about a year of patches before you have to upgrade. As long as you're not customizing the system in exotic ways, upgrading isn't a big deal. I do a general purpose server with several hundred email users every year with little issue. I don't know what you're all talking about with hassle in maintenence. Once something is setup, isn't it just a matter of monitoring and patching?
