Ha! I better delete this message....might give someone ideas :)

At any rate, I was told by a Shaw tech the old modems are indeed better for 
the regular service [which, BTW is being put up to 5Mb/sec, Xtreme-I is going 
up to 7]. The new modems supposedly have lower latency.

Its as much of a "what I need" issue as picking a distro...
