I am familiar with port knocking,  but unfortunately I do not control the 
firewall - my machine is behind the firewall with no method of accessing it 
from the outside.

I can set a cron job on the inside machine to "call me" at specified times, 
but I don't know what I can use to listen for that connection on my computer.
