In case anyone is interested... it looks like 'Pirates of Silicon Valley' is finally being released on DVD on August 30th. This is the story of how Apple and Microsoft came to be. It's a very interesting portrayal of events. I don't know how accurate it is (I'm sure many liberties were taken) but it certainly doesn't paint Microsoft in a very good light. The performances by Noah Wiley as Steve Jobs and Anthony Michael Hall as Bill Gates are very good. Joey Slotnick as Steve 'the Woz' Wozniak is a bit of genius casting. This is the character you empathize with the most.
Anyhow, I thought I would pass that along. It doesn't have a thing to do with Linux but it is interesting from a 'history of computers and software' point of view. And did I mention that Microsoft aren't portrayed in a nice way? <grin> For that matter neither are IBM. I highly recommend this movie. You can still find it in video stores on VHS if you don't want to shell out for the DVD. Or you can wait till September and rent the DVD.
