there is GFS, the Global File System. it was GPL'd last year (or the year before that?) by Red Hat after they bought Sistina. there's some good docu on it on Red Hat's site; i've heard mixed reviews on it and it's certainly not the most trivial thing in the world. -- Aaron J.
