We hijacked that last thread...oops.

I sent this to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (that's the tech support contact on their
website). I'd reccomend anyone who is affected to put in a message, maybe
they'll do something.

Hi there,

I'm writing regarding Shaw's entire network being added to blacklists all over
the world. I have a Shaw business internet package, and when I sent a message
yesterday, I received a bounce saying:

The Postfix program

  Service unavailable; Client host [68.147.28.194] blocked using
  l1.spews.dnsbl.sorbs.net; ! [1] shawcable, see
  http://spews.org/ask.cgi?S3163 (in reply to RCPT TO command)
</quote>

If you visit http://spews.org/html/S3163.html you will see nearly all of
Shaw's IP addresses are blocked, the main mail server itself is in danger of
being blocked, and there is a comment:

Spam ignorant.

Poster child of how not to run a broadband network company
when it comes to dealing with abuse.
</quote>

Surely that isn't the reputation Shaw wants. It is simple to implement
blocking port 25, and would benefit Shaw greatly. It would, first off, save
legitimate business customers this headache. It would cut down network
traffic, stopping SPAM traffic in it's tracks. It would also require those
running a MX to upgrade to a business package.

I would appreciate a reply on this, as it's being followed by some members on
the Linux users group here in Calgary, who would like to know if Shaw will
take action, or allow their customers to be blacklisted.

Thanks,
Nick W
