I assume you installed from CD then added the mirrors for the DVD only packages? If so then it WILL insist on getting CD available packages from the CDs, when SUSE releases 9.3 to ftp in a few weeks you will be able to get all of the packages online. Until then the DVD only mirrors are there as a service to those people who have only CD drives.
