If you are bringing a laptop with a wireless card you will have to send your
MAC to one of the Executive who will then forward it on to the DeVry IT
people. It should be done a few days prior to the meeting. You may be able
to get them to add you if you go down to the IT room before the meeting, I'm
not sure. Otherwise, you may be out of luck till next month.

If it is a wired Ethernet interface, you don't need to register your MAC,
however, there is only the one jack in the meeting room at the podium.

The wireless reception in room 108 is dodgy, some people get lousy reception
others not so bad. It appears that it is better to be closer to the front of
the class to get a decent connection. Perhaps taking a poll of those with
laptops in attendance and how their connections are working would be of some
help. The way I understand it room 108 is at the edge of the wireless net.

The new Executive have talked about hooking our own wireless router to the
wired port and serving out the whole room this way. I'm not sure how this
will fly with the DeVry folks. The other option was to have someone bring in
a switch or hub that could be distributed to as many people who want to
connect (assuming the switch or hub may accommodate them).

With the regular Ethernet connection there are some settings that must be
tweaked in order to connect. We have had a lot of problems with this in the
past. It would be nice if this was nailed down once and for all so that
everyone would know what they are supposed to do.

That's the scoop at least as much as I am aware.
