Google , the manufacturers web site, and sourceforge are generally the places
I look for drivers. I will also periodically check the kernel dev mail list
archives to see if support has been added upstream.

For ATI there is the gatos project (http://gatos.sourceforge.net/). I have
not been very happy with ATI under linux, so I have switched to Nvidia almost
exclusively. For TV out the only hardware I have personally witnessed to be
working was a hauppauge PVR-350.
