This is far fetched but here goes: If you are using Windows server, if you are using Active Directory, then look into Group Policy.
See if there is a GP set for - (drill down the AD) Windows Settings, Security settings, Local Policies, Network Security, then check if "Force Logoff when logon hours expire" is enabled. The odd thing is that such a policy applies to the entire "Group", but if the person is the only one in some "Group", then this is worth a try.
