Hi Alex.
You can't use your usual command-line tools like alsaconf to do more than
isolate the problem and affect a temporary solution under suse. Once you get
that, use yast2, it is a command-line tool, and make your adjustments
permenant. The problem is likely a miss-detection of hardware, in this case
the soundcard. The wrong module was loaded, or the right module was loaded
with wrong parameters, fix this by removing the offending module using yast2
and inserting the correct module with the correct parameters. This would show
up under normal(GUI) yast and left alone as such.
I will assume that fixing the sound would fix the flash-sound issue as well.
The usb speed issue could be the same, check the modules dealing with your usb
hardware, and see if they think it is a 1.1 version or are just defaulting to
1.1 for making sure reasons. Also check the suse update, they are quite fast
in fixing issues, there might allready be some updates in there for you that
will address your problems.
Cheers
Szemir
