"web/mail/file/db"

Keep in mind that each one of these is a separate server application with it's
own configurations. So, step one would be to start with one of them. :) The
simplest would likely be either the file sharing or web server (depending on
if you are after a simple server, or want virtual hosts and such). The mail
service again depends on how complex you want to be. If its only going to
handle a single domain with a few logins, then I would recommend a basic
Postfix setup, probably with a POP3/IMAP server as well.

The database can be very simple, or very complex. Do you know if you are
going to be using PostgreSQL or MySQL? Eitherway there is lots of good
documentation online for these (as well as experience within the group).

If you are staying with Suse, fire up Yast, go to the install software part of
it, and find Apache (web server), Samba (file server), PostgreSQL/MySQL
(database), and one of Postfix/qmail/sendmail for the mail server. I
wouldn't be surprised if Postfix is already installed, and maybe even Apache
and Samba.
