Hi All
Interesting talk at CUUG last night on Asterisk and VOIP, one thing that
was mentioned in the book he recommended, "VOIP, the future of Telephony,"
available here http://www.asteriskdocs.org/modules/tinycontent/index.php?id=11
is T1 and E1 circuits, reccomended for big VOIP projects.
This is something I have been curious about for a while, In Calgary, who can
you get such a thing through? Is it only Telus? How much do they cost?
T1 lines are fairly expensive even now and yep, you would generally need to go to a Telco to get those lines. But if youre attempting to be a mid size telco then you may even look at colocating a box at the TELUS pop. E1 lines are only if youre in Europe.
