Thanks for the response....

I have more than 6Gb free hard drive space, as well, the laptop has 512 Mb Ram 
and 750 Mb swap, so I don't think space is an issue at the moment.

I am currently running a memtest to see if anything shows up there, but I 
highly doubt it.
