Thanks to everyone's input on ssh, your comments have been helpful.
Some points will take sometime to further digest. We had fun on this
end the last 24 hours and have declared the mission a success with the
everyone's help.

There are several critical points that we discovered that need to be
added to the posting thus far.

1 X11 needs to be installed and services running
2 VNCserver needs to be installed and services running

In order to do remote graphical login

3 under SuSe, /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc needs to be edited
(have not tried this under SuSe yet)
under Rhat, /etc/kde/kdm/kdmrc needs to be edited (running FC3)

under the section heading [Kdmcp] Enable=false needs to be changed to
Enable=true

With this in addition to everyone else's comments, the stage is set.

I can ssh to one of my internal boxes

ssh -X [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Enter the password

To start a graphical login session, you enter

kdestart

(really cool, I can see everything -- even more cool when I can totally
get rid of this crutch)

If I logoff, I am back into the shell (I think that is what you call it)

If I want to go to a windoze machine, I can use vnc by

vncviewer 192.158.10.101:5900

A panel will popup asking for the password for the computer. BTW,
vncserver needs to be running and password set on the windoze machine.

I am sure that I am missing some steps in the setup, I will try to proof
my work as I feel another entry to the blog coming on. I wanted to let
everyone know where I was on this problem and that your help was
appreciated.
