Hello all,

I went to the Quick Browser icon and then to system configuration, and
then to Cups and then to open in a terminal.

Then the terminal screen showed:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]/etc/cups$

I then became super user and did the following command:

vi cupsd.conf

and found that as Root I could read the entire file.

I knew I could type "i" and start editing the file, but that would only
do harm if I did not know what I was doing, so I did some reading of the
comments(in green with # at the start of each line) and configuration
lines (in white).

The first line I saw in white was:

DefaultCharacterset notused

The next line in white was

ErrorLog /var/log/cups/error_log

The next line in white was:

LogLevel info

and the LogLevel comments are:

# LogLevel: controls the number of messages logged to the ErrorLog
#file and can be one of the following:
#
# debug2 Log everything.
# debug Log almost everything.
# Log all requests and state changes.
# warn Log errors and warnings.
# error Log only errors.
# none Log nothing.

Any way, you get the idea of what I was doing and can do.

Any suggestions of where I should look to find out how to get my printer
working? It is a canon BJ-200e inkjet printer.

Regards,
