Yes, this is easy.

Configure the zone, and make sure all of your computers are using that 
server as the resolver, and that dhcp is handing out that domain name to 
all clients. For static hosts, add that domain name to the fqdn of the 
host. On a linux box, add 'search domain.lan' to the /etc/resolv.conf' file.
