I have two installs, my laptop with a 64 bit Turion is running the 32
bit version of KUbuntu. Under this version everything appears as a 32
bit system and behaves normally (apart from the usual ATI headaches).

On my desktop at home (dual core 4400+) I have 64studio.com which is a
media production variant of Debian's Pure64. The 64 bit OS has some
serious issues for the "home user". Namely flash is broken as is Open
Office. Many applications work great such as firefox and ardour, but
there are still lots of gaps.

For home use I would stick with a 32 bit distro on an AMD64. The AMD64s
are still smokin' 32 bit processors. The AMDs run a lot cooler and use
less power than the equivalent Intel chips.

Cheers

For servers
