I do have a usable laptop (more than usable actually) using the fglrx xorg driver. I have not built the kernel module (for system stability reasons) so 3d does not work.
You can use the fglrx xorg driver that is packaged with Debian/KUBuntu (check apt-cache search fglrx for the package name) or the one from the ati site (convienently packaged in a .deb here: http://www.stanchina.net/~flavio/debian/fglrx-installer.html) There is also an Acer Ferrari 3200 listed here: http://www.stanchina.net/~flavio/debian/fglrx-working.html Hendrik Schaink wrote: > I suggest you boot up your laptop using Knoppix.
